BMI View: Power shortages form a key role in Namibia’s electricity market, as domestic energy-generating capabilities are insufficient to meet demand. 2012 was characterised by a shortfall of electricity, and we expect that this trend will carry on into 2013 as the government continues upgrading works on key hydroelectric and coal-fired power plants.
