With limited resources and continual pollution issues still at large, significant reform is needed to bring the industry up to scratch. However, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is providing much-needed funding, with a strong project pipeline and new tariff regulation providing bright spots. Despite this, a water deficit is still on the cards and it will take more funding and legislation to bring about the reform needed.
