BMI View: With roughly 66 million Nigerians not having access to a clean and safe water supply, there are clearly fundamental problems within the country’s water sector. A lack of legislation governing the sector, inefficient or underdeveloped infrastructure, an opaque regulatory framework, a disorganised Water Ministry and inadequate sanitation provisions are all contributing factors to the current failings of the industry.
